PM Modi’s Pune Visit Cancelled Amid Heavy Rainfall in City

Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s scheduled visit to Pune, Maharashtra, has been cancelled due to severe weather conditions, as heavy rains continue to lash the city. The visit, which was expected to include several official engagements, has been called off in light of the challenging situation on the ground.

According to officials, continuous downpours have caused widespread waterlogging and disrupted normal life in several parts of Pune. The weather department has issued warnings of heavy to very heavy rainfall in the region, prompting authorities to prioritize safety and emergency measures.

The Prime Minister’s visit was to include interactions with local leaders, the inauguration of development projects, and meetings with officials. However, considering the impact of the heavy rains and the potential risk to public safety, the decision was made to postpone the visit.

Local authorities are currently focused on managing the rain-related disruptions and ensuring the safety of residents. Citizens have been advised to stay indoors and avoid non-essential travel as emergency services work to address waterlogging and related issues across the city.
