The police spokesperson informed the launch of Operation Akraman-13 on Sunday where different police teams registered 16 cases and arrested 35 accused involved in various illegal activities.
The operation was launched under the directions of several dignitaries including Haryana Director General of Police,Shatrujit Kapoor Singh,Police Commissioner Panchkula, S.K. Raviraj, along withDeputy Commissioner of Police Panchkula, Himadri Kaushik, and Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime & Traffic) Virendra Sangwan.
The operation was conducted with the assistance of all Station House Officers and the Crime Branch unit. The operation began at 6:00 AM and continued until 12:00 PM, wherestrict action was taken against drug traffickers, resulting in the registration of 5 cases and the arrest of 5 individuals involved in drug trafficking. The police seized 36.92 grams of heroin, 1.88 kilograms of cannabis, 242 grams of charas, 1,920 narcotic tablets, 6,240 capsules, and 50 bottles of narcotic medicine from these individuals.
Additionally, various police teams conducted raids at different locations and registered 5 cases against those gambling in public places, leading to the arrest of 5 individuals. A total of INR 10,820 in illegal gambling money was seized, along with two stolen Activa scooters. Moreover, the police teams arrested 10 proclaimed offenders.
The police also arrested the accused involved in the murder of a Basola village resident by conducting a raid in their house in the early hours of the day.
Furthermore, DCP Panchkula Himadri Kaushik today visited all the examination centers to ensure the peaceful conduct of the constable examination organized by the Haryana Police Staff SelectionCommission and provided necessary instructions.
