Lok Sabha polls: PM Modi criticizes Congress for its allegedly involvement in bank scam at rally

Prime Minister Narendra Modi took a swipe at Rahul Gandhi, indirectly suggesting that Gandhi is seeking refuge in Kerala’s Wayanad constituency after facing challenges in retaining his family seat in Uttar Pradesh during the 2019 Lok Sabha polls. Modi implied that Gandhi’s move to contest from Wayanad involves collaborating with a banned organization’s political wing to secure victory. Speaking at a rally in Kerala’s Alathur constituency, Modi criticized the Congress for its alleged involvement in the Cooperative bank scam and highlighted Gandhi’s silence on pertinent issues affecting the people of Kerala.

Moreover, Prime Minister Modi criticized the Pinarayi Vijayan-led government in Kerala for its failure to address water scarcity issues in the state. He emphasized the success of the NDA government’s Jal Jeevan Mission in providing piped water connections to over 36 lakh households in Kerala but lamented the state government’s alleged corruption hindering the implementation of the Nal Se Jal scheme.

Continuing his critique, Modi highlighted the water scarcity in Kerala as indicative of the state government’s inefficiency, contrasting it with the NDA’s commitment to providing tap water connections to every household in Kerala. He outlined the BJP’s vision to transform Kerala into a global heritage destination by focusing on development and heritage preservation over the next five years.

Discussing the BJP’s election manifesto, Modi emphasized its commitment to the development of the country, promising free treatment under the Ayushman Bharat scheme for all senior citizens above the age of 70. He extended Vishu greetings to Malayalees, expressing confidence in a new era of development and politics in Kerala.

Prime Minister Modi also campaigned for NDA candidates TN Sarasu and Suresh Gopi in Alathur and Thrissur, respectively, during his sixth visit to the state this year. Later, he proceeded to Tirunelveli in Tamil Nadu for an evening public meeting.
