In a dramatic early-morning encounter, two members of the notorious Lawrence Bishnoi gang sustained injuries during a confrontation with the Jalandhar Police. The incident unfolded in Gulmohar Colony, located under the jurisdiction of the Bhargo Camp police station.
Identified as Nitin, a Jalandhar resident, and Ashish from Hoshiarpur’s Bulhowal village, the critically injured gangsters were promptly rushed to the hospital. Additionally, a police officer reportedly suffered injuries during the encounter.
Officials revealed that Nitin and Ashish were involved in a range of criminal activities, including murder, extortion, contract killing, and drug smuggling. Sources indicate that the duo had been assigned the task of carrying out targeted killings of two individuals in Jalandhar, having conducted thorough reconnaissance of their targets. The encounter unfolded as a result of a CIA team’s raid at Nakha Wala Bagh near Gulmohar Colony, acting on specific information. Upon discovering a suspicious car parked on a road, the team encircled it. The suspects inside the vehicle opened fire, hitting a police officer’s turban. In response, the police retaliated, injuring both assailants. Recovered from the scene were weapons and other items associated with criminal activities, according to officials. CIA in-charge Surinder Singh Kamboj confirmed the suspects’ affiliation with the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, noting that they were wanted in multiple cases registered with the Jalandhar Commissionerate.
Commissioner of Police Swapan Sharma, who led the operation, affirmed that the suspects were directed to carry out targeted killings by their US-based handler Jasmeet, alias Lucky, a close aide of incarcerated gangster Lawrence Bishnoi. Sharma disclosed Jasmeet’s involvement in the Sidhu Moosewala murder case, where he assisted two shooters, Mandeep Manu and Jagdeep Rupa, before their demise in Amritsar during their stay in Mohali after the Moosewala murder.
