In a fervent response to the growing concerns of the residents in Faidan of Ward No. 21, Aam Aadmi Party Councillor Jasbir Singh Ladi has taken a stand, demanding the immediate installation of traffic lights on the road leading from Sampark to the village.
Expressing the distress of the local population, Councillor Ladi highlighted the predicament faced by the approximately 1000 to 1500 residents of Faidan. The absence of traffic lights on the road connecting the main route to the airport has resulted in a surge of daily challans and an alarming rise in road accidents.
Councillor Ladi, who visited the affected area to engage with the community, empathised with the plight of the residents. He emphasised that the lack of traffic lights not only subjects thousands of people to unnecessary hardships but also poses a significant safety risk, leading to frequent accidents.
Residents have reported that the absence of traffic lights has led to the issuance of online challans for those entering or exiting Faidan from the main road. This has not only caused inconvenience but has also raised concerns about the increased likelihood of accidents. Complaints of alleged harassment by the police towards passing individuals have further fueled the local discontent.
Councilor Ladi assured the residents that he will escalate the matter to higher authorities and work towards the swift installation of traffic lights on the critical route. He stated unequivocally that addressing this demand is imperative for the safety and well-being of the people in Faidan. The councillor’s proactive response aims to alleviate the current issues and enhance the overall safety of the community.
