Ahead of the Lok Sabha elections to be slated next year, all the political parties are leaving no stone unturned to prove their mettle as well as their dominance over each other. Besides, the several bigwigs in the ruling BJP and the main Opposition Congress party are staking their claim on different seats. In the ruling BJP, the list of many contenders for one seat is getting longer and having a close eye on the contender, the party is not opening its cards by adopting the ‘’wait and watch’’ strategy.

Gurugram Lok Sabha is one of the hottest parliamentary seats in Haryana with several claimants in the BJP in fray for the ticket Rao Inderjit, who has considerable influence in the Ahirwal belt and an MP from the seat is currently the Union Minister of State from this seat and political experts are are of the opinion that he believed not to contest the forthcoming Lok Sabha polls from the seat. Amid this, Sudha Yadava, a member of the Central Election Committee of the BJP also emerges as the claimant of the ticket on the seat before the polls making it a multi cornered fight for the ticket in the BJP.

Similarly, there are many contenders in fray for Bhiwani-Mahendragarh seat of the state At present, Dharambir Singh, who belongs to the Jat community and an MP from the seat is strengthening his claims again on the seat. Arti Rao, the daughter of Rao Inderjeet is equally active in the seat in a bid to strengthen her claim in the seat ahead of the polls. However, the final call has to be taken by the party high command, the supreme authority. The party can also come up with big surprises keeping in view the caste equations. Apart from Aarti and Dharambir, Sudha Yadav is also among the strong claimants on Bhiwani-Mahendergarh seat and reacting to this, Sudha said that she is lucky one as her name surfaces in discussions as a contender for two seats simultaneously. But the BJP high command is the supreme authority to take the final call pertaining to the finalisation of the ticket. Since Sudha Yadav is a member of the Central Election Committee, the party is likely to mull over her name seriously before the elections.

In such a situation, names of three BJP contenders are running from Bhiwani seat converting into a multi cornered battle for the ticket. It is a noticeable fact that Rao Inderjit Singh has widespread acceptability in Ahirwal belt having a strong hold among the voters. With a huge support base in Southern Haryana, he also has a strong hold in the Bhiwani-Mahendergarh seat. In such a situation, her daughter’s claim seems strong here too. Aarti Rao’s focus is currently active on Mahendragarh. In 2014, alleging neglect in the Congress, he left the party and joined the saffron BJP. Further he was made to contest the elections on the ticket of the BJP and emerged winner twice in parliamentary elections in 2014 and 2019.

However, it is also believed that Rao Inderjit Singh will not contest the Lok Sabha elections this time. He is said to be interested in contesting the assembly elections this time. Besides, following the formula adopted by BJP in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh assembly elections, He can be fielded in the assembly as a part of the same strategy .
