The news of the envelope presented by Prime Minister Modi to Devnarayan temple has once again surfaced. The envelope in which a gift of Rs 21 was found in the program of the 1111th incarnation day of Lord Shri Devnarayan was said to be from PM Modi. This matter got a lot of attention after Priyanka Gandhi’s statement. Amidst this uproar, the temple priests and Gurjar community have organised a press conference in Jaipur. In the conversation, Hemraj Poswal, priest of Devnarayan temple, termed the news as mere rumours. The priest said that the temple is the centre of faith, and it would be better if Congress did not make it its political issue.
It is alleged that local politicians of Asind and Bhilwara, who have personal grudges against the people of the temple committee, spread confusion on social media that the envelope Prime Minister put in the donation box only had Rs 21 in it. But the temple committee says that by looking at any envelope in the donation box, it cannot be confirmed that it is Modi’s envelope.
The priest said, “Till date Congress has not done even a one rupee of development in Malaseri Dungri, the birthplace of Lord Devnarayan. Whatever development has taken place, it has been done only by the Modi government. It was said in the talk that former Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje had got Devnarayan ji’s panorama constructed with Rs 4.25 crore.”
On Thursday, BJP leader Shehzad Poonawalla came down heavily on Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, a day after the Election Commission issued her a show-cause notice over her ‘envelope’ remarks about Prime Minister Narendra Mod, and accused the Congress party of “only misleading people with such lies”.
In a video statement, Poonawalla alleged that the Congress was peddling “blatant lies”, thereby preparing the ground for a new flashpoint between the two parties ahead of the assembly elections scheduled next month. He said, “Congress, true to its culture, has not only lied to the people of Rajasthan but even when it is going amongst the public it is making false claims and false allegations.”
The BJP leader said Priyanka’s ‘lie’ about the white envelope in Devnarayan temple, allegedly put by PM Modi, “was fake news and has been called out now by the Election Commission”. The BJP spokesperson added that the Congress, instead of coming out with report cards for states where it is in power, was resorting to “white lies on white envelopes”. “This is because they have nothing to show…The Congress party only and only misleads people with such lies,” he alleged.
