The Supreme Court Collegium had recommended Adv. Siddhartha Sah and Adv. Alok Mahra for appointment as Judges of Uttarakhand High Court.
The Supreme Court Collegium bench comprising of Chief Justice of India Dhananjaya Y Chandrachud, Justice Sanjay Kishan Kaul and Justice Sanjiv Khanna have made the said appointment.
The Supreme Court Collegium in its statement stated that it has considered the views of the Chief Minister and the Governor of Uttarakhand while making the said recommendations and found that they being ‘fit and suitable for appointment’ as the Judge of Uttarakhand High Court.
The Collegium in its statement stated that in order ascertain the fitness and suitability of the above candidates for elevation to the High Court, thus, this court have consulted our colleague conversant with the affairs of the Uttarakhand High Court.
