The trend of extorting money from wealthy individuals in the Pink City is on the rise. Incidents of extortion have been increasing, indicating that gangsters from neighbouring states of Haryana and Punjab have established a deep network in Jaipur. This is why the Churu Police has found that, along with the notorious Lawrence gang, even the 0018 gang from Haryana has become active in Pink City for extortion. Based on information obtained from apprehended criminals, the police are now identifying members of these gangs.
In cases of extorting money from two doctors, Lawrence gang members Ravinder Singh, alias Kali, and his female partner Khushboo Chellani, alias Khushi, had targeted major stores in the East District of the Commissionerate. The Commissionerate’s Special Team (CST) is interrogating them to confirm the information. During a checkpoint operation, Churu police had apprehended five associates of the 0018 gang from Haryana, who were heading towards Jaipur. Their names are Narendra Jat, Sanjeev Jat, Manoj, Anuj, and Deepak Jat, all residents of Bhiwani.
During their interrogation, information was obtained about the active involvement of gang members from this gang in Jaipur for extortion. According to Churu Police Captain Rajesh Meena, all five arrested criminals were active in Haryana. Through social media, this gang has also recruited members in Rajasthan. The police are now identifying these gang members through the interrogation of apprehended criminals. Additionally, Jaipur Commissionerate’s CST has also focused on this gang.
