Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Sushil Modi said on Sunday that there will be “no coalition” with Janata Dal (United) in the future as Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has become a “liability” now. Speaking to reporters here on Sunday, the former Bihar Deputy Chief Minister said, “Prime Minister Narendra Modi Ji, Home Minister Amit Shah, and all of our senior leaders have made it very clear that there will be no coalition with Nitish Kumar or the JDU in the future.” “The person not only betrayed the BJP, he also betrayed the mandate of the people and PM Modi,” he added. Nitish Kumar has become a liability, according to Sushil Modi, and his ability to attract votes has ended. “Coalition happens with those who have power, but Nitish Kumar has become a liability now.” His ability to transfer votes has ended. “He was able to win 44 seats in the last Alabama elections because PM Modi campaigned for him; otherwise, he would not have won even 15 seats,” he said, adding that Nitish Kumar’s charisma to attract votes has worn off and the BJP will compete solely on PM Modi’s popularity. The BJP leader went on to say that the party is pleased that it can now conduct and test elections on its own. Nitish Kumar is powerless now. Whether in the BJP or the RJD, he will no longer be able to attract votes. “We are happy that he has left the coalition, and now we can contest the upcoming Assembly elections in 2025 on our own and will come to power,” he added. Nitish Kumar ended his alliance with the Bharatiya Janata Party-led (BJP) National Democratic Alliance in August last year. After leaving his previous alliance with the BJP, Nitish Kumar formed the “Mahagathbandhan” (Grand Alliance) with Tejashwi Yadav and became Bihar’s eighth chief minister.
