Three police officers, including a Sub Inspector (SI), were fired by Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) of the Gwalior range Krishnaveni Desavatu on Thursday for extorting money from bookies in the Gwalior district, an official said. The dismissed police officers are constable Rahul Yadav of the Gwalior Crime Branch, head constable Vikas Tomar of the Gola Ka Mandir police station, and sub inspector Mukul Yadav of the Gola Ka Mandir police station. According to a senior police official, they extorted bookies in the district for about Rs 23 lakh. The police claim that the incident happened about four months ago and was handled by the district’s Sirol police station. The aforementioned law enforcement officers had gone to carry out a raid at an apartment in relation to cricket wagers made online.
