Sama Shabir, the daughter of incarcerated separatist leader Shabir Ahmad Shah, has publicly distanced herself from her father’s Democratic Freedom Party (DFP) and pledged allegiance to the sovereignty of the Union of India. The 23-year-old, known for her academic excellence as a former CBSE topper in Kashmir, made her stance clear through a public notice published in a local newspaper.

Amidst her father’s imprisonment in Tihar Jail on charges related to money laundering and terror funding, Sama Shabir emphasized her identity as a loyal Indian citizen. She unequivocally stated her disassociation from the banned separatist organization founded by her father. “I am a loyal citizen of India and I am not affiliated with any person or organisation which is against the sovereignty of the Union of India,” the notice read.

After daughter if separatist leader declares allegiance to India, granddaughter of Syed Ali shah Geelani also issued public notice via newspaper:
She Declares in public notice issued,
‘’ I Ruwa Altaf D/o Altaf Alimad Shah W/o Moonis ul Islam Mattoo grand daughter of Syed All Shah GeelaniR/o HajiBagh Mam Road Buchpora do hereby solemnly declare that, 1. i do not have any connection or affiliation with Hurriyat conference (G) run by my grand father syed Ali Shah Geelani.
2. I don’t have any inclination or sympathy towards the ideol-ogy of the organization. 3. Any use of my name for this ontanization shall be liable to legal action from my side. 4. That I am a loyal citizen of india and not affilated with Organisation or Association which have agenda against Union of India and I owe allegiance to the constitution of my country India.’

This declaration marks a significant departure from her family’s political legacy and signals a personal choice to align with the Indian state.
