During the Idhemi Karma violent clashes flared up between the ruling party Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) and Telugu Desam Party(TDP) workers on Friday in Palnadu district.

The YSRCP & TDP activists pounced on each other with stones and sticks. Several people got injured in the clash. The police reached the location and disseminated the crowd formed following the Skirmish.

Police have now arrested TDP leader Julakanti Brahma Reddy. According to the videos, People were seen setting cars on fire and vandalizing the area. Furthermore, Palanadu Superintendent of police (SP) Y. Ravi Sankar Reddy revealed that people with criminal records were present in the Idhemi Karma and constantly pelted stones.

“This is a purely factional fight, not a political fight. These factional attacks have continued in this area for the past 20 to 30 years. As part of pre-emptive measures, a cordon search was conducted there from today morning. as people with a criminal history of faction related to Veldurthi were living in Macherla town,” he said.

Section 144 has been implemented and the accused are kidnapped. Some leaders who participated in the clash are now taking the support of the political parties. However, cases have been registered against both parties and serious action will be taken.
