Former Indian cricketer Yograj Singh has once again launched a strong critique of MS Dhoni, following the announcement of a biopic on Yuvraj Singh, widely celebrated as one of India’s greatest cricketers.

Yuvraj and Dhoni, who were pivotal in India’s 2011 Cricket World Cup victory, have shared many significant moments on the field. Yuvraj was a key player in both the 2007 T20 World Cup and the 2011 World Cup, with Dhoni leading the team to triumph. However, Yuvraj’s career faced a major setback when he was diagnosed with cancer shortly after the 2011 World Cup. Despite a successful return and participation in subsequent World Cups and the Champions Trophy, Yuvraj struggled to maintain a consistent place in the team and retired in 2019.

Yograj has frequently accused Dhoni of being responsible for Yuvraj’s exclusion from the team, and he recently reiterated these claims with a fresh attack on Dhoni. Yograj asserted that Dhoni had a significant negative impact on Yuvraj’s career and should face the consequences of his actions. He also argued that Yuvraj deserved the Bharat Ratna award for his contributions, especially given his battle with cancer and his role in winning the World Cup.

“I won’t forgive MS Dhoni. He should look at his face in the mirror. He is a very big cricketer, but what he has done against my son, everything is coming out now; it can never be forgiven in life. I have never done two things in life – first, I have never forgiven anybody who has done wrong for me, and second, I have never hugged them in my life, be it my family members or my kids,” Yograj said during an interaction on the Zee Switch YouTube channel.

“That man (MS Dhoni) has destroyed the life of my son, who could have played four to five years more. I dare everyone to give birth to a son like Yuvraj. Even Gautam Gambhir and Virender Sehwag have said in the past that there won’t be another Yuvraj Singh. India should award him the Bharat Ratna for playing with cancer and winning the World Cup for the country,” Yograj added.

Yuvraj Singh missed the Indian squad for the 2015 and 2019 World Cups and retired in June 2019, with his last appearance for India being in 2017. He played 40 Tests, 304 ODIs, and 58 T20Is, while Yograj Singh played 1 Test and 6 ODIs for India.
