Yash Thakur’s rapid bowling unsettled Gujarat Titans as Lucknow Super Giants clinched a convincing 33-run win in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 at Ekana Cricket Stadium on Sunday. With Mayank Yadav sidelined due to an injury after just one over, Yash stepped up and led GT’s downfall with an impressive performance.

Despite a strong start in the chase of 164, GT faced setbacks after the powerplay. In the absence of Wriddhiman Saha, Sai Sudharsan and skipper Shubman Gill formed a solid opening partnership, with Sudharsan leading the charge. However, Yash Thakur’s breakthrough by dismissing Gill for 19 shifted the momentum in LSG’s favor.

LSG’s spinners, supported by fielding brilliance, capitalized on the momentum swing, limiting GT to 130 all out. Earlier, LSG’s decision to bat first didn’t start well as Umesh Yadav struck early, but contributions from KL Rahul, Marcus Stoinis, and Nicholas Pooran powered them to 163/5.
