It was Rasmussen who came forward and asked Khan for marriage. After both sets of parents approved, she began preparing to fly to Pakistan to legalize their union.

Warm Welcome in Pakistan

Earlier this month, Rasmussen landed at Islamabad International Airport, where she was received with flowers by Khan. The couple then proceeded to his hometown village.

When she arrived, Rasmussen was greeted with Pakistani hospitality. Khan's family and relatives also presented her with gifts on the occasion.

Marriage Ceremony and Cultural Transition

Rasmussen came to Pakistan on a 90-day visa intending to marry. She converted to Islam on her own before the wedding and took on the name Zulekha.

The bridegroom and his bride were wedded after local village rites and Islamic practices. Rasmussen subsequently uploaded several photos and videos of their wedding celebrations on Facebook.

Here's What Happened

Khan had stressed that the conversion of Rasmussen to Islam was all her own. "There was no pressure from my family or me," he stated. He went on to add, "She is an independent woman who can make her own decisions. We are getting married of our own free will.
