Questions about the health of President Donald Trump have begun to emerge after photos taken in recent days showed him with bruising and bandages on his right hand.

That conversation grew louder when a video of Trump seemingly nodding off during a meeting in the Oval Office went viral online.

Amid these incidents, here was a question: Does the president's health indicate he might be dealing with a serious condition?

White House Explains Bruises on Trump Hand

The White House has also emphatically denied that the markings on Trump's hand were due to any serious medical condition.

Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said the bruises and adhesive bandages on his hand are simply caused by continuous handshaking at public events.

She said that Trump's tight schedule involves greeting thousands of people, and with such repetitive action, it can be easy for the skin of his hand to get irritated.

Leavitt also mentioned that aspirin is a day-to-day drug taken by the President, a popular medication leading to a situation whereby bruises could easily show up, especially in elderly persons.

This combination of non-stop handshakes and aspirin use is said to be the main reason for the visible marks noticed in photographs.

Trump Viral Moment: Caught Napping During Meeting

The debate grew louder after a video circulated that showed Trump with his eyes closed in one of the meetings at the Oval Office.

While critics immediately claimed he was sleeping, supporters insisted that this was simply a brief moment of rest or concentration.

The White House has not described the incident as a medical concern, and no official statement has correlated it with any illness.

Trump Health Update: Chronic Venous Insufficiency

Back in July, a routine medical check-up showed that Trump, who is now 79, had swelling in his legs. His doctor examined him and diagnosed the cause as chronic venous insufficiency, wherein veins in the legs have difficulty returning blood to the heart.

It is quite common in older people and is not life-threatening at all. Notably, it does not involve the hands, neither does it explain the bruises on them.

Is Trump Suffering From a Disease?

What We Know At this point, no credible evidence has come forward to suggest that Trump has anorexia nervosa or a similarly debilitating disease of the hands, or a low energy level that is affecting his meeting performance.

The White House claims the bruising comes from minor irritation, and the viral "sleeping" moment does not reflect any confirmed medical disorder.
