Second Woman Jumps into Niagara Falls, Days After Fatal Leap by New York Mom and Her Two Children

A second woman reportedly jumped into Niagara Falls just days after a New York mother and her two young children leaped to their deaths. Witnesses reported seeing the unidentified woman enter the water intentionally from Goat Island, near the iconic Horseshoe Falls. A search operation is underway, involving Park Police drones, foot patrols of the gorge, and visual searches from nearby overlooks, as confirmed by law enforcement to WGRZ.

New York Mother and Children Believed Dead After Plunge

The incident follows the tragic case of 33-year-old Chianti Means, who, on October 28, allegedly jumped into Niagara Falls from Luna Island with her two children, five-month-old Mecca Means and nine-year-old Roman Rossman. According to New York State Police, the mother’s actions were believed to be intentional. All three are presumed dead.

Means, a resident of Niagara Falls who worked as a domestic violence counselor, had been sharing distressing posts on social media prior to the incident. Her posts reflected deep emotional turmoil stemming from a separation. In one post, she wrote, “I wish someone would love me because the man that’s supposed to does not.” In another, she shared, “Everyone please leave me alone. I’m in love with my daughter’s father. I want my family back… Respectfully Idgaf what I said about him before or what anyone else thinks!!” She added, “You have to hold on to the ones you love. Never know when you might lose them.”

Despite these posts, authorities have indicated they do not suspect any involvement by the father of her children.
