U.S. President Donald Trump has vowed “very serious retaliation” after a deadly attack in Syria that resulted in the death of three American nationals on Saturday.
These were military personnel with one other civilian interpreter. This came amid an attack that left three other military personnel injured, with the blame directed at the “ISIS terror group.”
Three American Patriots Lost
President Trump showed his heartfelt grief about the loss through a post on the Truth Social media platform. “We mourn the loss of three great American patriots in Syria: two soldiers and one civilian interpreter,” Trump wrote. He also conveyed some relief with regard to the other three soldiers who got injured. “They are all doing well,” he wrote.
The incident occurred in a very volatile area of Syria. It was confirmed by the U.S. military that one lone ISIS terrorist carried out the attack.
This attacker was subsequently eliminated by U.S. forces. Notably, this is the first U.S. casualty of an attack in Syria since the fall of the Bashar al-Assad regime.

The Base Gate Attack
“The ISIS fighter opened fire at the gate of a military base,” Pentagon spokesman Sean Parnell told “MacNeil-Lehrer NewsHour.” “Two soldiers who were engaged in critical anti-terrorist efforts in the area were killed. A civilian who was working directly with U.S. forces as an interpreter was also killed.”
“The President of Syria, Ahmed al-Sharaa, is just as angry and disturbed about this attack,” President Trump added, terming it an attack on both the U.S. and Syria. Syrian Involvement and Investigation
Although It was also recorded that some of their own military were injured in the attack. An investigation is being carried out to establish who the shooter was, whether it was an official member of ISIS or just a supporter of their ideology.
At the current time, there are still multiple U.S. military forces that remain in the eastern Syria area, completing their mission with the global coalition to combat and suppress any return of ISIS forces.
This direct warning by the President translates to a rapid military strike in order to avenge the lost lives through the targeting of the terror group involved.
