Shruti Sharma is currently winning hearts with her performance in the show ‘Namak Issk Ka’. Netflix film ‘Pagglait’ will mark her debut in the film space as she’ll be seen sharing the screen with Sanya Malhotra. Shruti Sharma spoke exclusively with The Sunday Guardian where she told us about ‘Pagglait’, working with Sanya and how has pandemic changed her.

Q.How did you bag the role in ‘Pagglait’? How excited are you about it?

I got a call from a casting agency and was shooting for ‘Gathbandhan’ at that time. I went for the audition and it went really well. Many people have told me I have lovely eyes and somewhere it is the reason for me getting the role in ‘Pagglait’. I am happy to be a part of the Netflix project.

Q. What does your character look like in ‘Paglait’? How relatable is the character in real life?

Nazia is an ordinary girl, a girl next door. She is Sandhya’s ( Sanya Malhotra) childhood friend. She is independent and a follower kind of person. I am the opposite of that. I am bold and a decision-maker yet my family doesn’t think so, they think I am like Nazia.

Q. Covid pandemic has changed many lives, how was is it for you? Any new learning from it?

The Covid pandemic has changed many lives and for me, it has been three years in Mumbai and I think lockdown gave me a chance to spend time with my family as I have been busy with shooting and also lockdown gave me time for myself. I rediscovered my passion and love for dancing and came close to nature. It was mentally challenging as many things were happening around us yet it taught us a lot.

Q. As you have done television, movie and now OTT which one do you prefer and why?

I love to be a part of all of them. I am looking forward to the Netflix release, let’s hope for the best.

Q. How was the experience working with Sanya Malhotra?

Sanya is humble and fun-loving. Whenever she comes on the sets, she greets everyone and working with her was like a vacation with many learnings. I enjoyed it thoroughly.
