We Women Want: Discussing Women’s reproductive health

This week on We Women Want, we talk about women’s reproductive health with Dr Jayshree Sundar, the director of obstetrics at Madhukar Rainbow Hospital, who has been described by her colleagues as the busiest gynecologist in Delhi and Dr Tanya Buckshee Rohatgi, an IVF specialist. Tanya is the lead consultant on reproductive medicine, IVF, and oncofertility at the Max hospital. She began the Max PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma) therapy for endometrial and ovarian rejuvenation at Max.

REPRODUCTIVE CYCLE

The two discuss issues concerning women’s reproductive health, such as when is the best time to conceive and the difficulties associated with late pregnancies. They also stress the importance of a stress-free reproductive cycle, explaining that the stress of a high-pressure job could lead to difficulties in conceiving.

IMPORTANT TESTS

The tests that all women must undergo are also explained, as is the extra care that an expectant mother over the age of 40 must take to ensure a healthy baby. Apart from the ovarian cycle, which is best during the late 20s and early 30s, the bone mass also peaks when you are in your 30s. In fact, expectant mothers who are about the age of 30, are tested for Down syndrome.

The importance of nutrition and a healthy diet was also discussed on the show, along with tips for expectant mothers. We Women Want is a weekly show on NewsX that focuses on women’s issues.
