People in Haryana continue to suffer at the hands of senior officials including IAS, IPS, and Vice-chancellor which is a matter of serious concern, revealed the Haryana State Women Council (HSWC), adding that it received several complaints against the senior officials and out of the total complaints, nearly 70% are against the police personnel requiring inquiry.

It is also worth mentioning that even police officers are facing harassment and as a result of this they are filing complaints to the HSWC. A matter surfaced here on Wednesday in which a woman cop had filed a complaint of arrest against her father-in-law and that clearly indicates the shattering relations and moral values in the society.

The statistics depicted that out of the total complaints received during the past eight months, 72% have been sorted out while 28% are under process. A sizeable chunk of the complaints falls under the arrest category.

While reacting to the functioning of the commission as well as the nature of cases and complaints, Preeti Bhardwaj Dalal said that nearly 70 complaints, a huge portion of the whole, are against the police officers and employees which is an alarming situation. Besides, several complaints surfaced against the senior officials namely IPS, IAS along with Vice-chancellor. Further, she said that in wake of the nature of complaints, the commission continues to try its best and come up with several new initiatives in a bid to sort out the issues as the same is the need of the hour. She will recommend department inquiries against the police officers after she goes through complaints against them. Even on Wednesday, a complaint was reported against a DSP-rank official.

Apart from the above-mentioned, it is also worth stating that a string of complaints was found false after the inquiry was conducted. In view of the pseudo-complaints, action against such complainants should be taken so that no innocent person can be framed.

In continuation of this, what came to light is that women have filed seven complaints of rape against seven different people in seven police stations in Gurugram and in wake of the possibility of false complaints, the HSWC had demanded an inquiry into the matter by the SIT. Now, SIT has been constituted to inquire the matter to bring out the truth whether the allegations of rape by the women are false or true. In this, it is noticeable that even false complaints under the POCSO act continue to surface by the parents of the children against their relatives.
