Amaravati: A woman leader of Jaganmohan Reddy’s YSR Congress was caught on camera threatening and assaulting a toll plaza worker in Andhra Pradesh after she was stopped by putting barricades at the busy Kaza toll plaza between Vijayawada and Guntur on national highway 16 connecting Chennai and Kolkata.

In the video, YSRCP leader D. Revathi, who is also a chairperson of BC Vaddera Corporation, is seen removing the barricade placed in front of her vehicle at the toll plaza, as the officials at the toll plaza request her not to do so. At one point, she raises her hand at a toll booth official when he stops her from removing the barricade; she is later seen holding him by his collar and slapping him when he tries to stop her again. The video of high-handedness has gone viral. It is learnt that the CMO is also furious with this act.

On the other hand, Vaddera Corporation chairperson Revathi condemned it as false information and demanded the release of the complete CCTV footage of the incident. She alleged that only 5 seconds of the video clip is being circulated.

She said, “My mother slipped and fell from the stairs in my house. When I was taking her to the doctor in my vehicle, as there was traffic and a long queue of vehicles, I took the side gate. The tollgate staff stopped me saying that this was not the gate. Also, it was the regular gate I use. I urged them it is an emergency and they didn’t even listen. My car has a local pass through which the car is allowed to pass through this toll gate. It is a complete lie that I passed through the toll gate without paying the toll fee or without permission.”

She further added that the toll staff actually misbehaved with her though she informed the toll staff that she was taking her mother to a doctor. She released a video by saying, “Apart from hitting my car with their hands, they also abused me and all this would have been recorded in the CCTV footage and it will be clear whether I misbehaved towards them or they misbehaved with us if those clippings are also released by the toll plaza.”
