A woman was killed over the suspicion of performing black magic at Rachakonda limits of Telangana. Rachakonda police have detained one Meghavath Narsimha and three others for killing the woman. Some people informed the police that alleged that black magic resulted in the death of Narsimha’s younger brother Rajesh. Suspects kidnapped the victim N. Bujji on Sunday and killed the woman in the Rachakonda hills, police said. According to police, the victim and accused belong to Gandhi Nagar Tanda in Samsthan Narayanpur of Bhongir district under Rachakonda police commissionerate. A few months ago, both families had a fight over some issues. In December, Narsimha’s brother Rajesh died of electrocution at their poultry farm. Narsimha’s family suspected that Bujji performed some sorcery which resulted in Mahesh’s death. Since then, they have been waiting for an opportunity to avenge his death.

On Sunday, when Bujji was on her way to attend a function, Narsimha and other suspects abducted Bujji and took her to Rachakonda where they killed her. Police recovered the body and handed it to the family after post mortem. Additional force has been deployed in the village to avoid any untoward incidents.

This is the second such incident being reported from the state within a span of 24 hours. In another instance, a 50-year-old man suspected of performing “black magic” was beaten to death in Adilabad. The victim, identified as Sidmedki Thykaram, was beaten to death by his cousin Sidmeki Namdev and his son, Bheem Rao. Both the accused suspected that Sidmedki was performing “black magic” on Namdev’s wife.
