India recorded 10,064 new coronavirus infections in the past 24 hours, the lowest single-day spike in eight months. With this, the overall tally of Covid-19 cases touched 1,05,81,837.

Delhi recorded 231 fresh Covid-19 cases and 10 deaths as Health Minister Satyendar Jain said the coronavirus situation in the national capital seems quite under control at present. On Monday, the city had recorded 161 cases, the lowest in nearly nine months with a positivity rate of 0.32 percent.

Maharashtra’s Covid-19 tally rose to 19,94,977 with the addition of 2,294 fresh cases in the last twenty-four hours. With 50 new deaths, the state’s fatality count rose to 50,523. Of the 50 deaths, 35 took place in the past 48 hours, while five occurred last week. A total of 4,516 patients were discharged from hospitals during the day, which took the number of recovered persons to 18,94,839. There are 48,406 active cases in the state at present.

Uttar Pradesh recorded four coronavirus-linked fatalities, which brought the death toll to 8,584, while 376 fresh infections pushed the caseload to 5,97,238. The number of active Covid-19 cases in the state stands at 8,631. In the past 24 hours, four deaths and 376 fresh cases were reported in the state and 789 people were discharged. There are 8,172 active cases in the state and the total number of recoveries has risen to 5,80,482. 

Haryana reported four coronavirus fatalities which pushed the death toll to 2,993, while 153 fresh cases took the state’s infection tally to 2,66,581. Haryana has 1,837 active cases at present with 2,61,751 patients discharged so far after recovery. The state has a recovery rate of 98.19 per cent

Odisha’s Covid-19 caseload mounted to 3,33,566 as 122 more people tested positive for infection, while one fresh fatality pushed the death count to 1,902. Of the fresh cases, 72 were reported from various quarantine centres and 50 detected during contact tracing, Jammu and Kashmir recorded 113 new coronavirus cases that raised its tally to 1,23,538, while one more fatality pushed the death count to 1,923. Of the fresh cases, 53 were recorded from the Jammu division and 60 from the Kashmir division of the union territory.
