But did you know that at first, all team meetings were held at Shah Rukh Khan’s house, Mannat? Surprisingly, Juhi stopped attending these meetings. Recently, she shared why.
At an event by the Gujarat Chamber of Commerce & Industry, Juhi talked about how Lalit Modi asked her and Shah Rukh to buy a cricket team for the IPL. “We didn’t know anything about running a cricket team. I remember going to Shah Rukh’s house for meetings. We discussed everything there, from making the team jingle to deciding the team uniform,” she said. Juhi didn’t like the first team uniform. “He made it black and gold, and I was not happy. I thought, ‘What is this black and gold?’ because black is considered unlucky,” she added.
Juhi revealed that all the KKR meetings were held late at night at Mannat because Shah Rukh was busy during the day. “Our meetings were scheduled for 10 pm but would start by 11 pm. People would chat, and the meeting would actually start around midnight. I would get sleepy. After a few meetings, I stopped attending. I told them, ‘You guys do this, I am not coming,’” Juhi explained.
Juhi and Shah Rukh are close friends and have acted in many movies together. Juhi shared a funny story about her first impression of Shah Rukh. “We worked on a movie called ‘Raju Ban Gaya Gentleman.’ The producer said Shah Rukh was very famous and looked like Aamir Khan. I imagined a handsome hero like Aamir. But when I saw Shah Rukh for the first time, I was surprised. He was thin, wore a white shirt, and had a big nose and lips. I thought, ‘What is this? This is not what I expected,’” she laughed.
