A 33-year-old dental hygienist Emma Taylor is making headlines ever since the news about her giving birth in coma broke out, here’s all the details that one needs to know about the lady.
For those unversed, Emma, a British woman was forced to give birth 6 weeks early, while in a coma, after a non-cancerous brain tumor she had been carrying for years burst.
Taylor fell ill in October while pregnant, and was rushed to the hospital by her partner, Scott Weeks. According to a report by the NY Post, her 47-year-old partner Scott reveled to the outlet that “I called an ambulance, but they couldn’t get to us fast enough, so I decided to drive Emma myself.”
“It’s lucky I did, because doctors said if I had waited four hours, there would have been a very different outcome.”
Taylor was placed in a medically induced coma followed by the doctors discovered tumor so that she could give birth to Ophelia through emergency caesarean section.
For those wondering, the baby suffered no complications despite being born 6 weeks premature.
Emma was airlifted to London in Queen’s Hospital, where she underwent surgery to remove the brain tumor 2 days after giving birth. Following giving birth to a baby, Doctors successfully removed two-thirds of the 60-millimeter tumor, however Taylor remained in comma for around 3 months.
Although she is recovering now at a rehab center, she is suffering from paralysis.
