A portion of roof collapsed few days ago at Delhi Airport Terminal 1 near the Departure area in which 1 taxi driver was killed and 8 were injured amid heavy rainfall. T1 has been shut since then.

The Ministry of Civil Aviation declared after the event that structural engineers from IIT Delhi had been assigned to carry out an evaluation. According to an official, it will probably take close to a month to complete the technical study of Terminal 1 (T1). The official continued, “A decision about the restart of operations at T1 will be made once the findings are shared.”

DIAL representatives responded, “DIAL’s cross-functional teams have been formed and are actively evaluating the situation, engaging with various stakeholders to find the best way forward to ensure passengers’ safety and convenience,” when questioned about the operations starting at the terminal.

Additionally, they stated that they are “committed to ensuring that flight operations from T3 and T2 are kept running, with T1 operations remaining temporarily suspended.” until further notice
