WhatsApp keeps its users interested by introducing new features and updates to the platform. It has now added a new feature called “WhatsApp Channels.” The latest WhatsApp feature, according to The Verge, an American technology news website, introduces a new type of communication to the world’s most popular chat app.

Channels is what it’s called, and it’s designed for one-to-many broadcasting rather than discussion. The Meta-owned company describes it as “a private way to follow what matters,” and gives examples of how you might use it, such as local and sports updates.

Channels are separated from your chats with family, friends, and communities in a new tab called Updates, where you’ll find Status and channels you choose to follow.
Admins can use channels to send text, photos, videos, stickers, and polls in a one-way broadcast.

The company is creating a searchable directory where you can find your hobbies, sports teams, updates from local officials, and more to help you choose which channels to follow.

Most private broadcast services include this feature. This begins with safeguarding the personal information of both administrators and followers. Your phone number and profile photo will not be visible to channel administrators. Following a channel, on the other hand, will not reveal your phone number to the admin or other followers. It is entirely up to you who you choose to follow.
