The case was elated to the unnatural death of the main accused in the Bogtui case Lalan Sheikh West Bengal Crime Investigation Department (CID) takes over the probe. The main accused in the Bogtui case Lalan Sheikh was found hanging on 12 December inside the toilet. After this, the family members of Lalan Sheikh staged a protest in front of the CBI office in Birbhum. Meanwhile, for torturing Sheikh Reshma Bibi wife of Lalan filed an FIR. Earlier on 3 December Lalan Sheikh was arrested and was accused of burning eight people alive at Bogtui village in March.
