Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Sunday laid the foundation stone of the BRAHMA Project, a major rail coach manufacturing hub in Madhya Pradesh’s Raisen district

The BRAHMA Project stands for BEML Rail Hub for Manufacturing. It will be developed by Bharat Earth Movers Limited (BEML) to strengthen India’s rail infrastructure

The project will be set up at Umaria village, near Bhopal’s border, on more than 60 hectares of land, with an investment of ₹1,800 crore

Once operational, the manufacturing unit will produce rail coaches, boosting the state’s industrial capacity and supporting India’s growing transportation and railway sector

The project will benefit Raisen, Sehore, Vidisha, and the capital Bhopal by improving local economies and creating a skilled workforce in the region

Employment will be generated for students from technical institutes in nearby districts, encouraging skill development and industrial training among young professionals

Over 5,000 direct and indirect jobs are expected from the BRAHMA Project, supporting both skilled and unskilled workers in Madhya Pradesh
