Uttarakhand: 8 Killed as Tempo Traveller Falls into Gorge

Around eight people were killed and 15 injured after a tempo traveller with over 23 onboard fell into a gorge on the Rishikesh-Badrinath highway in Rudraprayag, Uttarakhand.

Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami said the seriously injured are being airlifted to AIIMS Rishikesh, and officials are ensuring the best treatment.

Amit Shah on X expressed sorrow over the tragedy in Rudraprayag, offering condolences to the families affected. He mentioned local teams providing aid and prayed for the swift recovery of the injured.

Rudraprayag SP Vishakha Ashok Bhadane reported 23 people were in the Tempo Traveller, with about 15 injured taken to hospital. Rescue operations are ongoing.

According to news agency ANI, rescue operations were being conducted by SDRF and police teams.
