Republic Day parade preparations start in July, with participants practicing for 600 hours. This year's full-dress rehearsal took place on January 23

The parade starts at Raisina Hill, passes India Gate, and ends at Red Fort. Dr. BR Ambedkar played a key role in drafting the Constitution

The first Republic Day was celebrated at Irwin Stadium in 1950. National Bravery Awards and Padma Awards are presented on the day to honor bravery and national contributions
