Pakistan Govt’s Move To Ban Imran Khan’s PTI Party

The Pakistan government has announced its intention to ban the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party, which is led by the imprisoned former Prime Minister Imran Khan, citing accusations of anti-state activities

The party declared on the X platform, “No true patriot would consider banning the largest and most popular party in Pakistan.”

The government's decision comes in the wake of recent relief granted to the PTI by the Supreme Court regarding reserved seats and to Imran Khan in the case of his alleged illegal marriage.

The government is also targeting those involved in the May 9 events and PTI leaders' efforts to disrupt Pakistan’s IMF deal.
