No Non-Muslim Appointments to Waqf Boards Until Next SC Hearing
The Supreme Court is reviewing petitions challenging the constitutional validity of the Waqf Amendment Act, 2025
The Centre informed the Court that, until the next hearing, non-Muslims will not be appointed to Central or State Waqf Boards
The government assured that no waqf properties will be denotified or have their character altered during this period
The Supreme Court officially recorded the Centre's assurances regarding appointments and property status
Petitioners are allowed to file rejoinders within five days after the Centre submits its response
