ISRO achieves a major milestone with its first Integrated Air Drop Test (IADT-01) for Gaganyaan’s parachute-based deceleration system

Conducted at Sriharikota, the test was a collaborative effort with IAF, DRDO, Indian Navy & Coast Guard

IADT-01 validated “end-to-end” parachute deployment from extraction to drogue and main chute release

The test ensures the Gaganyaan crew module can safely decelerate and land protecting future astronaut lives

This follows past tests drogue tests, pad aborts, and air-drop simulations essential for safe re-entry

The successful trial boosts confidence as ISRO gears up for the G1 uncrewed mission, ahead of the December launch

Human-rated Launch Vehicle subsystems propulsion, life support, escape systems are now ground-certified
