He made his acting debut at the age of five in the film "Pound," directed by his father, Robert Downey Sr., in 1970.

His global fame skyrocketed thanks to his unforgettable portrayal of Tony Stark/Iron Man in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

He played the role of Iron Man in ten Marvel Cinematic Universe films, starting with "Iron Man" in 2008 and concluding with "Avengers: Endgame" in 2019.
