Five New Ordinances to Be Tabled by Nepal’s Ruling Parties
A meeting of Nepal’s ruling parties decided to table five ordinances in the National Assembly, dropping a disputed land-related ordinance
The government will present five out of six proposed ordinances for approval in Nepal’s Upper House on Tuesday
Due to objections from Madhes-based parties, the government has decided to hold back the land-related ordinance
The decision was made after discussions at the Prime Minister’s residence in Baluwatar on Saturday
Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak confirmed that the ruling alliance is confident of securing a majority in the Upper House
The five ordinances include reforms in good governance, public service, economy, privatization, and business investment
