Everything You Need to Know About The PM Internship Scheme
In the 2024 budget speech, the Finance Minister announced an internship scheme for 1 crore youth in top 500 companies
Interns will get Rs 5,000 per month, a one-time aid of Rs 6,000, and 12 months of business exposure
A 2-year first phase will be followed by a 3-year second phase of the scheme
The scheme targets youth aged 21-24 who are unemployed or not in full-time education
Companies will select interns based on objective criteria, prioritizing those with lower employability
Candidates with IIT, IIM, or IISER qualifications, or whose family members work in government or are income taxpayers are ineligible
CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) funds will be used for training and 10% of internship costs
Details of the online portal for internship applications will be announced later.
