Catherine, the Princess of Wales, has announced she is receiving preventative chemotherapy following the discovery of cancer after her abdominal surgery earlier this year.
She announced the news in a video message released on 22 March 2024
Word of her diagnosis followed months of speculation about the princess' health.
The speculation was intensified when Kensington Palace released a manipulated image of Kate and her children earlier this month.
Kate did not disclose the specific type of cancer with which she was diagnosed.
Following the announcement, there was an outpouring of support, with messages coming from her family members and politicians such as British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, Labour Party leader Sir Keir Starmer, among other leaders.
"We wish health and healing for Kate and the family, and hope they are able to do so privately and in peace," Harry and Meghan said in a statement shared with People.
