Australia's New Visa Rules Are Expected To Impact Indians Significantly

Australian student visas are now much more costly for international students, including many from India

The application fees have surged from $710 (₹39,840) to $1600 (₹89,780), more than doubling. This new fee took effect from July 1st

This hike is a significant increase compared to current student visa fees in Canada (CDN$150/AUD$165) and the US (US$185/AUD$280)

This targets visa holders using student enrollment to extend their stay rather than for genuine studies

Temporary visa holders, including graduates and visitors, are no longer eligible to apply for a student visa while residing in Australia
