A 5.6 magnitude earthquake struck Afghanistan’s Hindu Kush on April 16, with the epicenter 164 km east of Baghlan, EMSC reported
The earthquake occurred at a depth of 121 km (75 miles). Initially, EMSC reported a magnitude of 6.4 but later revised it to 5.6
Baghlan, a city with around 108,000 residents, is the closest major urban area to the epicenter. As of now, there are no immediate reports of casualties or significant damage
This earthquake is part of a series of tremors affecting Asia recently. Earlier, a 5.6 magnitude quake struck off the southern Philippines
