Former Indian cricketer Suresh Raina announced his retirement on Tuesday from all the formats of cricket after which Chennai Super Kings CEO Kasi Vishwanathan said that they respect the star batter’s decision.

“Suresh Raina told us two days back about his decision that he is leaving IPL and we respect his decision and wish him luck. He is an integral part of CSK ever as he has done a lot for CSK till ten years, wish him luck for the future,” Kasi Vishwanathan, CEO of Chennai Super Kings.

Earlier in the day Suresh Raina announced his retirement on Twitter and said, “It has been an absolute honor to represent my country & state UP. I would like to announce my retirement from all formats of Cricket. I would like to thank @BCCI, @UPCACricket, @ChennaiIPL, @ShuklaRajiv sir & all my fans for their support and unwavering faith in my abilities.”

Meanwhile, on 15 August 2020 Raina announced his retirement from international cricket along with MS Dhoni.

Under the captaincy of MS Dhoni Raina was part of the 2011 World Cup-winning team. In 13 years of career, Raina played 18 Tests, 226 ODIs, and 78 T20Is.

Moreover, in an international career spanning 13 years, Raina gathered 5615 runs from 226 ODIs and 1605 from 78 T20Is for India.

However, Suresh Raina has 5528 runs to his name while playing in the Indian Premier League (IPL). In the 205 IPL matches, Raina has scored 39 half-centuries and one century.
