In his virtual address to the BJP’s brainstorming session in Jaipur on Friday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi condemned the ecosystem of political parties engaging in polarisation politics.

Addressing the BJP national office-bearers in Jaipur ahead of the upcoming elections in six states—Gujarat, Rajasthan, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Himachal Pradesh—PM Modi stressed that nationalism has replaced polarisation politics.

The three-day strategy meeting commenced in Jaipur on 19 May and is attended by all national presidents, vice presidents, organisation heads, ministers, and senior leaders of the party.

In a continued attack against dynasty politics, PM Modi said, “Since Independence, dynasty and familial politics have done so much damage to the country. Family parties have wasted a lot of valuable time in the country with corruption, rigging, and nepotism.”

The Prime Minister said these family parties are still bent on taking the country back, their public life starts with the family, runs for the family, and does it only for the sake of the family while adding that the BJP has to fight these family-based parties continuously.

“There is an ecosystem of some parties that try to distract people from real issues. We don’t have to fall into that trap. They can’t digest the development of India,” PM Modi said. He emphasised the fact that there is a need to protect India from dynastic politics and politics of polarisation.

Putting an end to the lan

guage row, PM Modi said, “In the past few days, we have seen that attempts are being made to spark controversies on the basis of languages. BJP sees a reflection of Indian culture in every regional language and considers them worth worshipping. We have given importance to every regional language in NEP (new education policy).”

Urging leaders to reach out to every beneficiary of government schemes despite hiccups, the Prime Minister said the focus should remain on issues of national interest despite some parties diverting the narrative.

“Aaram toh nahi karna hai (We cannot rest). We can never repay the debt of our freedom fighters, but we can serve our countrymen. The party has crores of workers and I am proud of all of you,” said PM Modi while stating that BJP workers have no right to sit idle. The Prime Minister said there was a time when people of the country lost all hopes in governments to improve their lives. But since 2014, BJP changed that mindset. Speaking of eight years of his governance, PM Modi said the years are dedicated to “sankalp”, “sewa” and “gareeb kalyan”, small farmers and expectations of the middle class.

The PM recalled how on 15 August, he had asked to reach out to all beneficiaries. “We know there are hurdles as there is dependence on state governments and others, but if we decide to reach out to them and not let anyone slip out, we will achieve our goal,” the PM told the leaders. He also announced that the BJP was starting a new awareness drive.

“We need to work on spreading the politics of development everywhere. Be it any political party, we need to pressure them to follow—willingly or unwillingly—the politics of development. We have brought it into the mainstream of politics. Everyone needs to talk of development in polls now,” said the PM. PM Modi advised BJP workers to fix their goals for the next 25 years and work consistently to fulfil the aspirations of the people who are looking at the BJP with great confidence and a lot of hope, as independent India prepares to mark its centenary in 2047.

BJP leader Vinod Tawde said that several decisions were taken and several resolutions were passed as well during the brainstorming. Resolutions on the successful eight years of the Modi government, and welcoming four state victories were passed. A resolution was passed on Rajasthan mentioning the growing crime rates in the state. WITH AGENCY INPUTS
