Prime Minister Narendra Modi has announced an ex-gratia payment of ₹2 lakhs from the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund (PMNRF) to the families of each individual who lost their lives in the recent landslides in Wayanad.

Additionally, those who have been injured in the disaster will receive ₹50,000 as financial assistance. Expressing deep distress over the tragic events, PM Modi conveyed his heartfelt condolences to the families mourning their loved ones and extended his prayers for the speedy recovery of the injured.

He emphasized that rescue operations are actively ongoing to support and aid all those affected by the disaster. Furthermore, PM Modi assured Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan of the Centre’s full support and assistance in addressing the ongoing crisis and ensuring that all necessary resources are provided to manage the situation effectively.
