Prime Minister Narendra Modi unveiled a plaque and planted a sapling at the newly inaugurated campus of Nalanda University.
During his visit to Bihar on Wednesday, Prime Minister Modi inaugurated the new campus of Nalanda University, situated near the ruins of the historic university in Rajgir. External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar and ambassadors from 17 partner countries were also present at the event, according to officials.

Although the new university began operations in 2014 from a temporary location with just 14 students, construction on the new campus commenced in 2017.
Nalanda University provides Post Graduate and Doctoral research programs as well as short-term certificate courses. Additionally, it offers 137 scholarships to international students.
