The Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York is scheduled for dismantling as part of preparations to remove the temporary venue constructed for the ongoing T20 World Cup in the USA.

A video shared by ANI on social media shows bulldozers have been set at the site, ready to demolish the stadium that had a seating capacity of 34,000 and hosted India’s three group matches, notably the highly anticipated India vs Pakistan encounter.

India’s final match at the stadium was against co-hosts USA on Wednesday. The tournament’s other venues in the USA include the Grand Prairie Stadium in Dallas and the Central Broward Regional Park Stadium Turf Ground in Florida.

Following the group stage, the T20 World Cup’s ‘Super 8s’ phase will shift entirely to the Caribbean islands, culminating in the final scheduled for June 29 in Barbados. India’s victory over USA, securing a seven-wicket win, marked their third consecutive victory and guaranteed Rohit Sharma’s team a place in the ‘Super 8s’, with one more group stage match remaining against Canada in Florida.

Post their fixture in Florida, the Indian squad will proceed to the West Indies for the ‘Super 8s’ and subsequent knockout rounds.
