A Palestinian journalist died Tuesday from critical burns he received in an Israeli attack on a journalists’ tent in the southern Gaza city of Khan Younis on Monday, local media reported.

Footage shows Palestinian Journalist Being Burnt Alive

Video footage indicated that Ahmed Mansour, a reporter with Palestine Today news agency, was burning alive following the attack on the journalists’ tent adjacent to Nasser Hospital in the city on Monday.

Mansour passed away in the early hours of Tuesday, according to Wafa, the government’s official news agency.

His death increased the number of journalists killed in the attack to two, while eight other journalists were injured.

Israel acknowledges attack, alleges Hamas links

The Israeli military acknowledged on Monday that an attack took place, saying that the attack was on journalist Hassan Elslayeh, who Tel Aviv alleges is a member of Hamas. The military stated that Elslayeh was wounded in the attack.

Over 200 journalists killed since October 2023

At least 211 Palestinian reporters have been slain in Israeli assaults in the Gaza Strip since October 2023, local authorities say.

The Israeli military renewed a fatal attack on Gaza on March 18 and has killed close to 1,400 individuals, wounded more than 3,400 others, and destroyed a January ceasefire and prisoner swap deal in the enclave.

Benjamin Netanyahu vows to intensify operations

The Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu last week promised to raise the level of attacks on Gaza as plans are in place to carry out US President Donald Trump’s plan of displacing Palestinians from the enclave.

More than 50,700 Palestinians were killed in Gaza in a fierce Israeli attack since October 2023, where the majority were women and children.

The International Criminal Court issued warrants for Netanyahu and his then Defense Minister Yoav Gallant last November for war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza.

Israel also has a case of genocide at the International Court of Justice for waging war against the enclave.
