Want To Go Back To School? This Company Can Help You Experience It In One Day

School days are one of the most memorable periods in the lives of many. The nostalgia of uniforms, bustling hallways, and shared laughter often leaves people longing to relive those carefree moments. Time cannot be turned back, but a Japanese company has found a way to let people experience the charm of school life all over again.

The Japanese company, Undokaiya, has recently unveiled an innovative program called Your High School,’ through which tourists can experience the life of a Japanese secondary school student for a day. This experience will bring in a mix of nostalgia and discovery of culture.

Day as a Japanese Student

The programme, conducted entirely in English, replicates the quintessential Japanese school day, often depicted in popular TV shows. For 30,000 yen (approximately ₹17,000), participants don uniforms, attend classes, and engage in activities reflective of Japan’s unique school culture.

Guests can wear either the traditional school uniform or a suit to really become a student. Then, they are placed in a classroom of 30 participants. The day begins with lessons led by a teacher, which include such topics as calligraphy, disaster drills, emergency skills, and traditional Japanese dances.

Fun and Realistic Additions

To add an authenticity feel, the day involves cheeky students that bring humour and a little chaos to the day. Following lunch, as served in a school-like fashion, there is sporting and club activity to highlight the camaraderie and energy of the Japanese school day.

Cultural Observations and Responsibilities

The final part of the day takes place with a unique tradition to the Japanese—cleaning the classroom. This is something that drives home the message about responsibility and discipline that exists in the Japanese education system.

In Undokaiya, this modern creation allows the dreamt-for reliving of the good old school days of bygone eras; along with this, this establishment offers a glimpse to be remembered into Japan’s culture of education.
