Dr Audimulapu Suresh, Minister for Education, Andhra Pradesh government, virtually inaugurated a five-day National Workshop on Data Science and Advanced Computing, that was organised by School of Advanced Sciences, VIT-AP University. The minister lauded the efforts of the university in conducting national and international level workshops, conferences by inviting professionals from both industry and the academia. He also welcomed 2,493 students participating from 26 states of India and 7 foreign countries.

Dr G. Viswanathan, founder and Chancellor, VIT, said that adopting new technologies and analytical approach is a must in data driven world for 21st century jobs. This workshop will encourage the participants towards new research directions, and provide a wide opportunity for them to interact with global experts.

Dr S.V. Kota Reddy, Vice Chancellor, VIT-AP, said that the School of Advanced Sciences is organising a 5-Day National Workshop on “Data Science and Advanced Computing.” VIT-AP University is offering dual degree programme B.Sc. & M.Sc. Data Science (with exit option B.SC. Data Science) and M.Sc. Data Science programme.

Rajan Sethuraman, CEO, Latent View Analytics told that Study in data science and advanced computing will offer great careers in numerous areas. Data science experts are needed in virtually every job sector not just in technology. In fact, companies like Google, Amazon, Apple, Microsoft, and Facebook are major employers. However, in order to break into these high-paying, in-demand roles an advanced education is generally required. Dr Sekar Viswanathan, Vice-President, VIT, Dr Sandhya Pentareddy, Executive Director, VIT, Dr C.L.V. Sivakumar, Registrar, VIT-AP University, Dr Santanu Mandal, Dean, School of Advanced Sciences, faculty, staff and students were present attend the webinar.
